HAIFA. Haifa is a hilly city by the Mediterranean.  The city offers great views and beautiful beaches.  The official start of the bathing season is about a week prior to the start of the conference and the weather will be very pleasant.  You are all urged to bring your bathing suits and plan on some beach time.

HOTELS. The conference will take place at the University of Haifa and at the Technion.
We have come to agreement with three hotels (in close proximity to each other) that will offer a variety of prices.  Links to hotel registration will be provided shortly.

There will be shuttle services, free of charge, between the conference sites and the hotels.

MONEY: the New Israeli Shekel (NIS) rate is about 4.6NIS to 1 US $. You can withdraw NIS using you ATM card almost anywhere. You can change money at the airport: exchange rates at hotels are typically not in your favor.

FROM THE AIRPORT.  It is recommended that you take either the train or a taxi from the airport (TLV) to Haifa. 
The train fare currently is NIS 38.5 (about $8), Taxi fare within the city is about NIS 30 (about $6.5)
Taxi from the airport to the hotel is about NIS 270 – 300 ($60 – 65)

TRANSPORTATION.  Haifa has an extensive bus system, and if you know your way you can get anywhere in the city by using a bus.  Israel, in general, has a very good bus services and you can get anywhere in the country by using the bus.
Cab fares within the city usually are in the $6-8 range.
